AI in Retail

Between online competition, staff shortages and fluctuating demand, precision decides in retail: the right goods, at the right time, in the right place, with the right staff. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the right tool for it — forecasting, planning and writing where gut feeling and overtime used to rule.

Whether in-store, online or both: the data is already there — POS data, merchandise management, shop system, customer accounts. AI links them into sales forecasts, automatic replenishment and customer communication that does not sound like a robot.

We guide retailers from analysis through integration into merchandise management and shop to training the teams — pragmatic, GDPR-compliant and focused on quick impact.

challenges

Where the industry gets stuck

Write-offs and gaps on the shelf

Ordering too much means write-offs, too little means empty shelves — both cost margin and customers.

Staffing by gut feeling

Footfall peaks, holidays, weather: without forecasts, too many or too few staff are on the floor.

Content effort in e-commerce

Product texts, categories and translations for thousands of items — no longer manageable manually.

Enquiries around the clock

Delivery status, availability, returns: customers expect instant answers, even on Saturday evening.

use cases

Concrete AI use cases

Six entry points proven in practice — each connected to your existing systems and data.

Sales forecasts and replenishment

AI forecasts sales per item and store — taking season, promotions and weather into account — and generates order proposals.

Workforce scheduling

Footfall and revenue forecasts feed into rosters that cover peak times and avoid idle time.

Product texts and translations

From item master data, SEO-ready product texts in several languages emerge — in your brand's tone, submitted for approval.

Customer service assistant

An AI assistant answers questions on delivery, availability and returns in the shop and by email — connected to your real-time data.

Returns analysis

AI finds patterns in return reasons — sizes, descriptions, photos — and shows where returns can be avoided.

Price and promotion analyses

The effect of price changes and promotions becomes measurable; recommendations support your pricing decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI pay off for brick-and-mortar retail too?

Yes — sales forecasts, replenishment and workforce scheduling have their greatest effect on the shop floor. The data needed usually already sits in POS and merchandise management.

Does it work with our merchandise management and shop system?

Common systems offer interfaces through which we connect AI — without changing systems. What is possible for you is clarified in advance in the IT check-up.

Doesn't AI-generated content sound generic?

Only without guidance. We store your brand's tone, target groups and examples; texts go to your team for approval until the quality is right — after that, spot checks.

What about customer data and GDPR?

We implement personalisation and analytics in compliance with GDPR: data minimisation, clear legal bases, processing exclusively on your own infrastructure if desired.

Is there funding for digitalisation in retail?

Yes. In Saxony via the SAB digitalisation grant, for training nationwide via the Qualifizierungschancengesetz, for consulting via BAFA. Our funding page offers a quick check.
