AI in Tax Advisory

Skills shortages, deadline pressure and clients who expect digital collaboration: firms feel the change clearly. Artificial intelligence (AI) is no replacement for professionals but a lever against the routine work that slows firms down today — receipts, mail, standard letters, research.

In tax advisory in particular, confidentiality and diligence are non-negotiable. AI tools therefore have to be used in a controlled way — with clear approvals, traceable sources and data that does not leave the firm uncontrolled.

We set up AI solutions that fit DATEV-shaped workflows and train your team in safe use — so the firm gains capacity without risking quality and professional law.

challenges

Where the industry gets stuck

Staff shortage with a growing client base

Tax clerks are hard to find — the work is spread across ever fewer shoulders.

Receipts in every format

Shuttle folders, photos, PDFs, emails: a lot of manual work passes before receipts are booked.

Deadlines and liability risk

Every missed deadline is a liability case — monitoring ties up experienced staff.

Client pressure for information

Queries about assessments, financial statements and documents arrive daily — every answer costs advisory time.

use cases

Concrete AI use cases

Six entry points proven in practice — each connected to your existing systems and data.

Receipt processing with AI

Receipts are recognised automatically, account assignments proposed and submitted for review — also from photos and email attachments.

Inbox assistant

Incoming mail and emails are assigned to clients and matters, deadlines recognised and tasks created.

Drafts for standard letters

Objection, deadline extension and client letters are drafted from matter data — the professional reviews and signs.

Research assistant with sources

AI searches laws, guidelines and firm knowledge and answers with references — as a starting point, not a substitute for professional review.

Year-end preparation

Balance plausibility checks, open items and missing documents are compiled automatically — preparation of the financial statements starts prepared.

Client portal with assistant

Clients submit documents digitally and receive answers to standard questions — the firm sees everything in the matter.

Use funding

Firms are SMEs — so BAFA consulting subsidies and, in Saxony, the SAB digitalisation grant are possible; team training is funded by the Qualifizierungschancengesetz. Nationwide, the Qualifizierungschancengesetz funds further training for your employees with up to 100% of course costs — Sellium is an AZAV-certified training provider.

faq

Frequently asked questions

Is AI compatible with the duty of confidentiality?

Yes, if processing is controlled: processing under a DPA or operation on the firm's infrastructure, no use of client data for model training, clear access rules. We base our solutions on exactly these requirements.

Does AI replace tax clerks or professionals?

No. AI does the preparatory work: capturing, assigning, drafting. Review, assessment and signature stay with people — so firms gain capacity without giving up responsibility.

Does that fit our DATEV environment?

Our solutions complement DATEV processes via defined handover points and interfaces instead of replacing them. What is specifically possible is clarified in the IT check-up.

How reliable are AI research results?

AI delivers starting points with references, not binding information. We configure assistants to cite sources and flag uncertainty — professional review remains mandatory.

Is there funding for firms?

Yes. BAFA subsidises consulting for SMEs, in Saxony the SAB funds digitalisation projects, training runs via the Qualifizierungschancengesetz. Our funding page shows the right route.
