Rule-based workflow
Fixed sequences with clear conditions — quick to implement, fully traceable.
focus area · use cases in your business processes
At Sellium, a use case is always a business process that can be automated. We analyse how work actually flows in your company — quotes, invoices, enquiries, approvals, reports — and turn those workflows into reliable automation with the right degree of AI. The focus is not the technology but the process and its benefit.
Classic process automation often failed on unstructured input: free-text emails, PDFs with changing layouts, phone notes, images. That is exactly where AI comes in. Language models and document recognition understand content, classify it and hand structured data to the next steps.
This brings processes within reach that were considered “too individual” — from the incoming-invoice workflow through quote creation to handling customer enquiries in service.
Not every process needs an agent. For each use case we choose the degree of automation that best balances benefit, risk and operating effort.
Fixed sequences with clear conditions — quick to implement, fully traceable.
A single step uses AI, e.g. classification, extraction or a text draft; the rest stays rule-based.
AI prepares decisions, a person checks and approves — human in the loop as standard.
The agent plans and executes multi-step tasks, accesses systems and flags defined cases for review.
In the Use Case Discovery we document your processes with those involved: triggers, steps, systems, exceptions, monthly volume and the points where things get stuck. Modelling in BPMN 2.0 makes effort and benefit comparable and is at the same time the specification for implementation.
The analysis yields a process map with management, core and support processes — and an evaluation matrix showing which use cases should be implemented first.
Automation only takes effect when embedded in ERP, CRM, DMS and mail system. We design interfaces, define data flows and set guardrails: what may the system do itself, what is presented for review, what is logged?
Whether operation is in the cloud, on premise or hybrid is decided by the TCO assessment together with data protection and security requirements.
Every use case gets KPIs that are measured before and after automation: lead time, handling effort, error rate, response time. The TCO-based business case sets these effects against the running costs for models, operation and maintenance. Automation stays not a promise but a verifiable result.
privacy first ai
Personal data, contracts and calculations run through the processes being automated. We design data flows so that GDPR, trade secrets and internal policies are respected — and document it.
Only the data the process needs flows into AI steps; pseudonymisation where possible.
European providers, on-premise models or hyperscalers — chosen with justification per use case.
Binding rules for employees and systems, aligned with the EU AI Act and works agreements.

Four steps from process mapping to productive operation.
A shared understanding of AI and automation in all areas involved — the basis for good use cases.
Mapping and modelling of processes, assessment by benefit, risk and data situation, prioritisation.
TCO-based roadmap, architecture decision, AI policy and quick wins.
Implementation of the first process, measurement against KPIs, handover into regular operation with monitoring.
